Starting Horses

Our methods of starting youngsters look to gain the horses cooperation and trust as a foundation for ridden work. Using only non violent methods and working at the horses own pace, we are able to develop a willing and responsive riding horse with a good working attitude and a superb understanding of what is required as our ridden partner. This enables us to be efficient and succesful with all manner of youngsters. The length of stay varies depending on previous experience/education and natural character, typically from 2-15 weeks dependent on what level of your horses education you feel ready to continue with. Youngsters are welcome to stay for further schooling.

We can tackle many remedial issues, with the length of stay and training methods varying greatly depending on the nature and scale of the problem.  Please get in touch to discuss your horses needs.

Schooling Livery

We take horses on schooling livery as preparation for competition or sale or just to further their education and pride ourselves at bringing out the best in each horse.  Looking from the horses perspective gives us a huge advantage in developing training whether on the flat or over jumps.  We work in partnership with the horse to create a balanced, responsive and light way of working.  Our methods of schooling can also hugely benefit horses with remedial schooling issues such as fizziness, lazyness, horses on the forehand, evading the bit, etc.
